Free training for businesses scheduled in May through September
Did you know that all organizations are required to report to the Department of State Lands (DSL) any funds unclaimed by their clients, customers, or employees? Known as unclaimed property, common types include uncashed checks, customer credits, inactive bank accounts and unapplied deposits.
Free half-day reporting seminars will be held in Salem, Coos Bay, Portland, Eugene, Medford and Bend. Topics include a brief overview of unclaimed property, determining when unclaimed property is reportable, actions required before reporting, due diligence, preparing your report, record retention and what to expect from an audit.
Pre-registration is required to attend. Each attendee receives informative course materials and handouts for each workshop. Certificates of completion will be provided on request for those who wish to seek continuing education credits.
Register online or call 503-986-5290 for more information about the seminars.
